Maths Heron

How it works

  1. You sign up with your pilot invite code and confirm your email address. You're the account holder.
  2. You add your child: first name or nickname, Year 9, 10 or 11, and Foundation or Higher tier. Add more than one child if you like.
  3. You choose the rhythm, in any combination:
    • Daily set: about 10 questions, 10–15 minutes, on the days you pick.
    • Weekly assignment (Saturday): a focused set on the area they most need.
    • Monthly mini mock (last Saturday): exam-style mixed questions, calculator or non-calculator, with results at the end.
You can focus on chosen topic areas, and pause for holidays.
  4. We email you the set link at the time you choose (4pm by default). Forward it, or open it on your child's device. The link opens their set without a password.
  5. Your child answers one question at a time. Each answer is marked straight away (fractions, surds, π, units and "x =" are all understood), followed by the worked solution.
  6. The next sets adapt. Wrong topics come back after 2, 7 and 21 days. Weak areas get more questions. Difficulty steps up when they're doing well.
  7. You see the progress on your dashboard (topic areas, streaks, what to revisit), plus a short weekly email with a suggested conversation starter.

Where the questions come from

Questions are generated from templates written for the Pearson Edexcel GCSE Mathematics (1MA1) specification. Each template creates many versions with different numbers, and every version is checked by a computer solver. Every question type was reviewed and approved by a qualified UK maths teacher before going live. Only approved question types are ever used. If anything looks wrong, the "This question looks wrong" link sends it straight to us.

Maths Heron is independent and not affiliated with or endorsed by Pearson.
